  A gift

What might I say to a friend.
From my hurts and scars?
It's a vision, my friend,
I willingly share with you.

Listen.

Give me your doubts, your fears
Ill gladly carry them for you.
For I know its a needless breaking burden
You've created for yourself.

Let them go.

See through my eyes.
Listen to my vision for you.
There's hope crushed by your negative thoughts.
There's a dream in you ready to fly.
Let it out!

Feel my sadness when you yield to fear.
Feel my tears when you won't play the game.
Share that joyous moment when you try.
Hear my voice when you're in doubt.
Live your life.

It's not power, nor money.
It's not envy nor greed
That brings us glory.
It's chasing our dreams.
Find yours.

It's not heat or high.
It's not hiding nor endless drive.
It's not satisfying the dreams of others.
It's remembering your dream and chasing it.
Its time to begin.

Your fears have no power.
Learn to live with those enemies within.
Don't be sidetracked by anything for long.
For there is only one thing that counts…
your dream.

Begin

As a few former classroom students risked their futures by joining LCA, I found myself assisting as they "took on" any forces that would prevent their success.
If needed, I helped with their first steps to their dream.
If needed, I helped in the resolution process of any personal problems preventing their success.
I encouraged and motivated them during the "tough times".

And, inspite of my assistance,
a few still choose the quiet road to failure and stagnation.
I watched them as they sat real still
and, then I wrote "A Gift".
