I remember the smile on Shawn's face as he left Lincoln's ChalleNGe Academy.  He didn't get his GED but was "one section short".  A couple months after leaving LCA, he did complete that section and obtain his GED.  He wasn't very bright but he knew "success" and he liked it.  The months passed after The LCA graduation and Shawn sat in his coutry home without a car and, consequently, without a job.  He called several times and asked for help with job applications...I helped a couple times.  It wasn't enough.

Oh yes, Shawn deserves all the responsibilty for his failure.  But, we too much share in the results.  And, if we accept our responsibility, we must know it's not enough to bring young adults to a successful door and then throw them back to their old life's road of failure.  HELLO....
