It is human nature to want to sit forever...
Sometimes we might ask if it's best to just sit. After
all, it is the natural force of our lives to avoid change. This page
is my reminder that change is often good, healthy and rewarding.
When I retired after 20 years with a local
school district, I was certain that life was nearly done and new frontiers
were to be avoided. I'm certain,
during that last year before retirement at 54, I was dealing with depression.
I know fear and feelings of loss existed. It was during this time I tried Xanax and resumed smoking cigarettes. It
was a tragic period in my life when I yielded to fear, personal distrust
and a doubting in God's plan for me. I was wrong.
These photos were taken after my retirement from the school district. They
are my reminder that change is not to be feared. Sometimes change should
be sought. I share them now to remind you of my mistake.
A new life is often avoided in-spite-of-the-fact
that it offers the only road to happiness, self-fulfillment and answered
dreams.
A new life offers opportunities for
the exercise of our "sleeping" skills
A new life can bring us new friends
and strengthened family relationships.
A new life gives us that opportunity
to close old doors that need closing.
See it? Feel it?
Thanks, and home please!
