How can we get a kid out of
his comfortable basement world?

______________

Lets ask Robert
__________

Robert  was a young man who lived in his basement.  He really did live in his basement. He came out to eat, visit briefly with family and friends and then returned to his basement home.

The basement was his comfortable world.
Few people ever saw him and fewer ever knew him.

He, as a child, was shy and fearful.
He never did want to stretch the limits his world.

And, he would have stayed in that world if were not for Woody Morrison's family who introduced me to this young man.  I talked with him about The Lincoln's ChalleNGe Academy and he "bought the product".  He went to Rantoul and his vision was never the same again.

So, most stories would go to the next level
with a new problem-free life.
But, NOT FOR ROBERT...
Robert struggled with Acne all of his adolescent life.  Even into his new basement-free life, the severe acne issues existed.   And, he continued courageously on his new road anyway.
That took guts and that's just what he now possessed.

So, since attending Lincoln's ChalleNge Academy, Robert has tried to join The Springfield Fire Department but he failed to be chosen.  He worked a few part-time jobs while at home.  He went to The Job Corps Program for a couple years and completed their training for Welding and Electrician.

__________

We end with his exit from Job Corp.
What's next?
No one knows yet and that just excites Robert.
He lives a new motivated life now that is yet undefined.
But, he has a persistent  optimism.

He'll be OK now...
