A few thoughts from Lincoln's Challenge graduates...
Have you loved?
Have
you loved, have you lost?
Have
you cared and been crossed?
Do
you know yourself, or shall you find?
Do
you play by the rules, or get excited by the crime?
Do
you share? Do you give?
Do
you beg or do you lend?
Do
you keep or throw away?
Were
you born in September or in May?
Do
you see or are you blind?
Do
you have a watch or no sense of time?
The
perfect match, are you looking for?
Did
you not turn on the light when you opened the door?
Did
you run or did you walk?
Have
you seen the love or was it thought?
Did
she care? Did she really?
Did
you trust or go by gut feeling?
Have
you believed or have you never?
There’s
been 3 or 4 to call you clever?
Have
you walked on water or on land?
Have
you given a helping hand?
Did
you see it, before it came?
Or
did it fall out of the sky, as if it was rain?
Have
you hurt, have you pained?
Have
you struggled have you blamed?
Do
you feel regret, or ashamed?
Have
you been honest, have you lied?
To
give to who you love is to truly find?
Is
there happiness that never leaves?
Or
is it hate all that you can conceive?
Can
you think or barely read?
Have
mastered, have you conquered, or do you bleed?
Is
there hope, is their truth?
God
is with us that is our proof?
Can
you hear what is told?
Or
must you find out yourself, and yourself mold?
So,
what happened to respect?
